Match preview
RB Leipzig and Manchester City will meet in the first leg of their Champions League encounter this Wednesday evening as Pep Guardiola looks to give the European crown one more go in the colours of Manchester City.
City head into this one having drawn 1-1 with Nottingham Forest and may now see themselves eight points behind Arsenal once again in the Premier League title race.
In some ways, however, it points towards City being able to go all in within the Champions League. In fact, they made easy work of their group stage campaign and only dropped points in a 0-0 draw against Borussia Dortmund.
City are also on a three-game winning run since losing to Tottenham Hotspur at the start of February and have beaten Arsenal twice within the past month as well.
As for Leipzig, they are down into fifth in the Bundesliga after losing to Union Berlin 2-1 and drawing with Koln 0-0. They did still thrash Wolfsburg 3-0 away from home just last weekend, however.
Guardiola’s men are clear favourites to progress through here and with Paris Saint-Germain on the ropes against Bayern Munich, safe passage here could see City establish themselves as the team to beat in Europe.
