Match preview: AFC Bournemouth vs Millwall

AFC Bournemouth return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.

The Cherries just missed out last season as they lost in the play-offs against Brentford.

Scott Parker’s side have been in the top two since September 2021 and finally secured their automatic promotion on Tuesday.

They produced a late 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in a crucial clash with Nottingham Forest.

Kieffer Moore scored in the 83rd minute to win the match.

Millwall three points off the play-offs

Millwall’s play-offs hopes remain just about alive.

The Lions secured a 3-0 win over Peterborough to remain in the race.

Gary Rowett’s side head into the final day in 8th, a point behind Middlesbrough and three behind both Luton and Sheffield United.

The South London club have to win to stand any chance and then hope several results go in their favour.

Both Middlesbrough and Millwall could climb into the final day of the season if they both win and Luton and Sheffield United lose.

If just one of Luton and Sheffield United lose, they would also need Middlesbrough to drop points to snatch the last play-off spot.

Also, regardless of whether Sheffield United lose, their goal difference is 5 worse off compared to the Blades so catching them is unlikely.
