Birmingham have struggled in their last few games with a defeat to managerless Middlesbrough and a 0-0 draw with bottom-of-the-table Coventry City. The Blues did manage to gain a point away at league Leaders Sheffield United in between those games though, which is a great result considering the form of the Blades.
John Eustance will know his side needs to start scoring more goals though, with just nine all season. However, they are strong favourites for going into this clash with Nigel Pearson’s Bristol City with bookies pricing the home win at just 6/4.
Bristol City have hit a bad patch of form again, with three defeats, one draw and one win in their last five games. Last time out saw them play out a 0-0 draw with Coventry, much the same as their opponents this weekend. In fairness to Pearson’s side, those three defeats came at the hands of Burnley, Norwich and QPR – all sides that are looking like playoff contenders.
Unsurprisingly, the Robbins are second favourites to come away with all three points here but will be desperate to upset the odds. Bookies are pricing the away win at 17/10, which makes them outsiders by some distance.
