The Tangerines have struggled for form this season, losing half of their games so far. Last time out they suffered a 2-1 loss away to Millwall and before that, took a heavy 3-0 defeat at the hands of Rotherham. That meant it’s only one win in their last five, with improvement needed if they are to avoid a relegation battle come the end of the season.
However, the international break may have come just at the right time for Appleton’s side, with a chance to reflect on what’s gone wrong in the last few weeks. They do go into this one as outsiders despite being at home, with bookies pricing a Blackpool win at 14/5.
This weekend’s opponents Norwich have finally hit their stride in the Championship after a shaky first few games. Dean Smith’s side have won four out of their last five matches and currently occupy the second automatic promotion spot. Last time out though, they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom, but Smith won’t worry too much as his team are still in a great position a quarter of a way through the season.
With the Canaries only losing two games so far this term, they unsurprisingly head into this match as strong favourites to return to Norfolk with all three points. Bookies are pricing the away win at odds of just 7/8.
