Luton finally got their first three points of the season last weekend, beating Swansea 2-0 in South Wales. Nathan Jones will be a relieved man after a dismal first four games where they picked up just two points. But there will be a much more optimistic atmosphere this week following last weekend’s performance, in which they dug in against a possession-based side and came out on top.
The Hatters will be desperate to build upon last season’s playoff place finish and will be hoping their season can only get better from this point. However, despite being at home, they do enter this one as slight second favourites, priced at 2/1 and it will be a tough ask given their opponents are in fine form.
In fact, Sheffield United top the table as things stand earning 10 points so far and beating Blackburn last time out 3-0 in an impressive display. It’s easy to see why they have done so well with their squad boasting a wealth of talent in all departments. The two standouts so far though have been Sander Berge, who looks a cut above this level in midfield and Iliman Ndiaye who’s banged in three league goals already.
It looks as though the Blades will hang on to their prized assets as well, but will be wary that the final week of the window often brings about desperate bids from Premier League clubs for Championship stars. Naturally, they enter this clash as 13/10 favourites coming off the back of two excellent wins over Sunderland and Blackburn.
