The Royals secured a 3-2 win at Deepdale in a back and forth contest between the two teams.
Ryan Lowe’s side had taken 12 points from their last six matches prior to the defeat.
The loss leaves them 12th in the table, although given how congested the Championship is, they are just five points off the top six.

They head into Tuesday’s clash in ninth place and just three points off sixth place.
