Preston suffered a first defeat in seven matches over the weekend as they were beaten by Reading.

The Royals secured a 3-2 win at Deepdale in a back and forth contest between the two teams.

Ryan Lowe’s side had taken 12 points from their last six matches prior to the defeat.

The loss leaves them 12th in the table, although given how congested the Championship is, they are just five points off the top six.

Nottingham could move into top six

Nottingham Forest have the chance to move back into the top six with a win on Tuesday.

They head into Tuesday’s clash in ninth place and just three points off sixth place.

Steve Cooper’s side have been on a very solid run, winning four of their last six matches.

Their game against Bournemouth was postponed on the weekend due to Storm Eunice.

Josh Murphy is close to making a return from injury but remain sidelined for Tuesday’s match.

He remains unavailable along with Greg Cunningham, Sean Maguire and Tom Barkhuizen

Brice Samba will miss Tuesday’s match due to a crazy suspension.

The goalkeeper was shown a straight red for lashing out at Stoke’s Phil Jagielka.

Forest will also be without leading scorer Lewis Grabban who has an ankle injury
