Match preview
Two sides desperate for a bounce-back result are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, February 4th.
The matchup in question will see Reading act as hosts, in a meeting with promotion-chasing Watford.
Starting with the former, Reading are fresh off a frankly alarming result last time out.
After surrendering a two-goal advantage to ultimately share the spoils with a struggling Queens Park Rangers outfit the week prior, Paul Ince’s troops set their sights on a bounce-back result at relegation-battling Stoke City.
Instead, goals on the part of all of Will Smallbone, Tyrese Campbell, Jacob Brown and Dwight Gayle ensured that it was Stoke who emerged on the right side of a dominant 4-0 scoreline.
Reading, after spending the early months of the campaign battling it out amongst the promotion playoff scrap, as a result, find themselves in a lowly 16th in England’s 2nd tier.

And yet, the Royals could well be quietly confident in their chances of clinching a result on Saturday afternoon.
This comes with upcoming opponents Watford having not exactly set the world alight of late themselves.
All told, Slaven Bilic’s side have notched just two wins from their last seven, a run which includes a quartet of defeats.
Not only that, but one such loss came at the hands of none other than Reading early last month, when goals on the part of Kelvin Abrefa and Shane Long saw Watford sent packing from the FA Cup in altogether underwhelming fashion.
Back on the league front, meanwhile, the Hornets were condemned to another two-goal defeat last time out, on this occasion to in-form Middlesbrough.
Such woes mean that, come the weekend’s close, Bilic and co. could well find themselves on the outside looking in at the Championship’s playoff picture.
We at 101, though, are nevertheless backing Watford as narrow favourites heading into Saturday’s showdown at the Madejski, owing largely to the superior talent boasted across the club’s squad.
