Match preview
What many no doubt view as the headline fixture of the Championship gameweek is set to play out at Bramall Lane on Wednesday, February 15th.
The matchup in question will see Sheffield United act as hosts, in a meeting with Middlesbrough.
For those not aware, United and Boro currently sit 2nd and 3rd in the table in England’s 2nd tier.
Looking first at the former, Paul Heckingbottom’s troops have stood, alongside table-topping Burnley, as one of the Championship’s two standout sides across the season to date.
The most recent came this past weekend, when goals on the part of all of Sander Berge, Jack Robinson and Oli McBurnie culminated in a comfortable 3-0 downing of Swansea City.
After Burnley dropped a surprise pair of points at home to Watford on Tuesday, Sheffield United, in turn, will head into this evening’s action in the knowledge that a victory would see them close the gap on Vincent Kompany’s men to just five points.

Such a result, though, is altogether unlikely to prove an easy one to come by.
This comes with upcoming opponents Middlesbrough having long established themselves as one of the Championship’s most in-form clubs.
At one point in the campaign viewed as legitimate contenders for the drop, Middlesbrough have turned things around in nothing short of remarkable fashion over the course of the last few months.
All told, dating back to the far side of the World Cup break, Boro have marched on to victory in 10 of their last 12 fixtures.
Last time out, Michael Carrick and co. made short work of relegation-threatened Cardiff City, to make it three wins on the spin.
Such stellar efforts, coupled with the inconsistency of the playoff pack, have seen Middlesbrough, in turn, surge to the dizzying heights of 3rd in the table.
Lose on Wednesday, however, and the Yorkshire-based club will see their automatic promotion chances all but ended.
All things considered, we at 101 are therefore backing an eventual stalemate to ultimately play out come the full-time whistle at Bramall Lane.
