There has been very little improvement from Stoke since Alex Neil took over, with the Scot managing just one win in his first six games in charge, giving him a win percentage of just over 16%, a far cry from his amazing Sunderland record. Many have pointed out that despite having an abundance of talent Stoke lacks a real playmaker, hence why they are struggling to create chances. Ironically, Neil had this position covered in abundance at the Stadium of Light.
Despite the home side’s poor form, there isn’t too much in this game if the bookies’ pricing is anything to go by, with the Stoke win getting you odds of just 2/1, which still makes them second favourites, but not by much.
Opponents Sheffield United had a rare slip-up against QPR midweek, losing 1-0 to the London side. They will be hoping to get back to winning ways here to ensure they stay top of the table, with high-flying Norwich now level on points with the Blades and behind them only on goal difference.
Both United and the Canaries have only lost two games all season and are looking like they will be in contention for the converted automatic spots come the end of the season. For this game, however, they are slight favourites with bookies pricing the away win at 13/10.
