Match preview: West Bromwich Albion vs Barnsley

West Brom look set to finish the season in the top half.

However, the season promised to offer so much more for the Baggies who sat in the top two until late October.

A large collapse in form since then has seen the Midlands club drop into 10th place.

Valerian Ismael looked set to lead West Brom back to the top flight but just 12 wins after 31 matches saw him sacked.

Steve Bruce was the man who replaced him with the club sat 5th in the table.

West Brom returned to winning ways last weekend as they defeated Reading 1-0 at the Madjeski Stadium.

Barnsley suffer four defeats in a row

Barnsley have now suffered four straight defeats.

Poya Asbaghi’s side have lost to Peterborough, Huddersfield, Blackpool and Preston.

Last weekend, Preston managed to defeat them 3-1 at home.

Four consecutive defeats has seen the Tykes drop to the bottom of the table and will finish the season there.
