Match preview
The efforts of free-falling Sheffield United to arrest the club’s alarming stretch of recent form will resume on Saturday, October 29th.
This comes as the Blades prepare to make the trip to The Hawthorns, for a Championship showdown with West Bromwich Albion.
Sheffield United, of course, have taken their place front and centre in the chatter surrounding England’s 2nd tier for several weeks now. Unfortunately for all associated with the club, though, this has come for less than positive reasons.
Instead, the focus has been on the remarkable woes being endured by Paul Heckingbottom’s troops.
A run of six straight outings without a win has seen them rack up just three points from an available 18, slipping to 5th in the Championship table in the process.
United’s latest outing, last weekend, did see them recover from two goals down to clinch a share of the spoils, but even that only came in a home meeting with a Norwich City outfit too winless in six.

Safe to say then, that the visitors could do with a return to winning ways come the final whistle sounding at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
And, in truth, Sheffield United could not hope for a more presentable opportunity to manage precisely that.
West Brom are of course in the midst of a nightmare season of their own.
Expected to push for a spot back in the big time ahead of the campaign kicking into gear, the Baggies have instead been forced to contend with a tense battle against the drop.
A league worst two wins from 16 attempts leaves the manager-less Midlands club sitting 2nd from bottom in the table, quickly running out of time in their bid to turn things around.
After looking as though they had finally gotten things back on track courtesy of an impressive 2-0 triumph at Reading following Steve Bruce’s dismissal, West Brom have since fallen to back-to-back defeats over the course of the last week, most recently at the hands of Millwall.
We at 101 are therefore backing Sheffield United, despite their own struggles of late, to ultimately emerge triumphant on Saturday afternoon.
