Our recommended bet for Tuesday’s clash at The Hawthorns comes in the form of a surprise draw between West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic.

A £10 wager for such an outcome will secure you a return of £40 with Betway.

Match preview

A West Bromwich Albion outfit aware that a victory is something of a must amid the club’s dwindling hopes of clinching a promotion playoff spot are set to act as hosts, in one of three midweek fixtures in the Championship.

This comes as the Baggies prepare to play host to relegation-battling Wigan Athletic.

Beginning with the former, West Brom are fresh off another altogether disappointing result over the weekend.

After putting a halt to the scintillating stretch of form being enjoyed by promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough, Carlos Corberan’s troops made the trip to Hull City brimming with confidence.

This, all told, means that the Baggies have now notched just one win from their last five attempts.

Corberan and co. have therefore slipped to the depths of 11th in England’s 2nd tier, albeit in the knowledge that a victory later today would guide them back to within four points of the playoff race.

Standing in the way of Tuesday’s hosts and as much, though, will be a Wigan outfit to have pieced together an altogether respectable stretch of results of their own of late.

Though the Latics remain 2nd from bottom in the table, they have actually emerged on the wrong side of the result just once in their last six.

And this was followed over the weekend by a respectable share of the spoils with Birmingham City.

After falling behind early on at the DW Stadium, Ashley Fletcher’s equaliser just shy of the hour mark proved decisive, en route to a 1-1 stalemate.

Hosts West Brom, of course, will nevertheless head into Tuesday’s action at The Hawthorns in possession of deserved favourite status.

Do not be surprised, though, if an increasingly resolute Wigan side ultimately do enough to emerge from proceedings with a hard-earned share of the spoils.
