Bodø/Glimt made a name for themselves in Europe last season, so can they go even further this time?

Just last year, the Norwegian champions made this debut in a UEFA group stage, coming in this competition, but got all the way to the quarter-finals, eventually ousted by Roma.

This time round, Kjetil Knutsen’s team so nearly got into the Champions League, but were eliminated by GNK Dinamo in the play-off round.

Lech Poznań meantime are reigning Polish champions, with this their first appearance in the knockout phase for 12 years.

Similar to their opponents, John van den Brom’s team are unbeaten at home in Europe this season, winning six out of seven, but are winless in ten continental away fixture.

So, expect Bodø/Glimt to prevail in this first leg at Aspmyra Stadion.

This’ll be Bodø/Glimt’s first competitive fixture since 3 November, with the new Eliteserien season not kicking off until 10 April.

During the winer window, key players Ola Solbakken and Nikita Haikin left the club.

So, there could be debuts for Odin Luras Björtuft, Adam Sörensen, Fredrik Björkan and Faris Moumbagna, with Julian Faye Lund starting in goal, following Haikin’s departure.

Midfielder Hugo Vetlesen is suspended, having been booked on matchdays four, five and six.

Lech Poznań team news

Scottish international left-back Barry Douglas is out injured, meaning Alan Czerwiński will continue to deputise.

Captain Mikael Ishak has scored 17 goals this season, including eight in Europe, so will continue to be the primary threat.
