Both of these clubs would certainly have been targeting group stage football, but one will fall in the third qualifying round.

FC Basel were Europa League quarter-finalists as recently as 2020, also reaching the last 16 in this competition last season.

In all, RotBlau have featured in eight Champions League, seven Europa League and one Europa Conference League group stage in the last two decades.

However, having not won the Swiss Super League since 2017, their path to more group stages is becoming tougher.

This season, Basel began in the previous round, easily seeing off Crusaders.

This though will be a far tougher assignment.
