José Mourinho has only managed against two clubs 3+ times without ever beating them; Real Madrid and Bodø/Glimt. Roma are unbeaten in 17 European matches at the Olimpico, but have only won eight of 24 ties when losing the first leg away. Bodø/Glimt are unbeaten in six European matches on the road, drawing five.

Both teams to score is 1/1.

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is 7/5.

Roma to win and over 2.5 goals is 1/1.

Tammy Abraham is currently the Europa Conference League’s top scorer with seven. He is 11/4 to break the deadlock and 8/11 to add to his tally.

Ola Solbakken scored three times against Roma during the group stages. He is 6/1 to break the deadlock and 7/4 to score against them again.

Match preview

A week ago, Aspmyra Stadion was in boisterous mood, as one might expect, but was then stunned silent on the stroke of half time.

Roma took the lead thanks to a lovely team goal; Henrikh Mkhitaryan flicking the ball round the corner for Lorenzo Pellegrini to finish.

But, shortly after the interval, the hosts were level when Brice Wembangomo’s shot deflected off Ulrik Saltnes, thereby deceiving Rui Patrício and finding its way in.

Then, just as the match looked set for a draw, came the decisive moment in the final minute of normal time.

Amahl Pellegrino’s corner was headed home by Hugo Vetlesen, a goal that ensured it’s Bodø/Glimt who boast a slender first leg advantage.

Can the Yellow Horde now continue their remarkable European adventure all the way to the semi-finals?

Bodø/Glimt were only crowned Norwegian champions for the very first time in 2020, before retaining their title last year.

In Europe, they got into a UEFA group stage for the very first time this season, ousting Valur Reykjavík, Pristine and Žalgiris Vilnius in qualifiers.

Kjetil Knutsen’s side then negotiated Group C unbeaten before beating both Celtic and AZ in the knockout phase.

Alfons Sampsted scoring an extra time winner in Alkmaar in the previous round.

So, this second leg in the Italian capital will be Bodø/Glimt’s 20th European fixture of the season, just the fifth club to reach that many in one campaign.

Worryingly for AS Roma, they’ve now faced the Eliteserien champions three times this season but are yet to beat them.

These two also met in the group stages with Bodø/Glimt winning 6-1 at home before a 2-2 draw in Rome; a repeat of the latter would cause shockwaves.

I Giallorossi are looking to stay on track for their first European silverware since overcoming Birmingham City to win the 1961 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup Final.

José Mourinho’s men saw off Vitesse in the previous round, albeit they needed a very late header from Tammy Abraham to achieve this.

La Lupa are unbeaten in nine Serie A matches, winning six of the last seven, but need to carry that form into Europe to reach the last four.

Will it be the Italian giants or the Norwegian underdogs who prevail at Stadio Olimpico, setting up a semi-final against Leicester or PSV?

Roma team news

José Mourinho has settled on a 3-4-2-1 formation of late and will stick with that here.

Tammy Abraham remains their main goal threat, having scored 23 times already for his new club.

This is the most a player has ever scored in their first campaign with Roma, breaking the record held by Gabriel Batistuta and Vincenzo Montella.

Nicolò Zaniolo came off the bench against Salernitana on Sunday so could join Abraham and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in attack.

Bryan Christante and Sérgio Oliveira, who scored and then was sent off away to Vittese, are the usual midfield duo.

Leonardo Spinazzola was an unused substitute at the weekend; he hasn’t featured since suffering an Achilles tendon rupture during Euro 2020.

 Bodø/Glimt team news

Bodø/Glimt will be able to call upon Ola Solbakken after he missed the first leg due to flu.

The 23 year old scored three times against Roma during the group stages and came off the bench during Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Sandefjord.

He’ll return to a front three that also features Amahl Pellegrino and Runar Espejord.

Full-back Brice Wembangomo is another impressive figure in this team.

Goalkeeper Nikita Haikin has conceded just 14 goals in 16 Europa Conference League appearances this season.
