Match preview

Despite defeat in Eindhoven last Thursday, Arsenal remain in pole position to go straight through to the round of 16.

A week ago, the Gunners put in a lifeless and, at time, shambolic performances, easily beaten 2-0 by PSV in the Netherlands.

This ended Mikel Arteta’s team’s 100% record in Group A, and were the first goals they’d conceded in 370 minutes.

However, Arsenal remain top, two points clear, knowing only a victory here will rubber stamp first place, if PSV manage to win in the Arctic Circle simultaneously.

This is so important as only the group winners go straight into the round of 16, while the runners-up will face a Champions League drop-out in the first knockout round.

At the weekend, the Gunners showed no signs of fatigue, returning to the top of the Premier League by hammering Nottingham Forest 5-0.

In stark contrast, FC Zürich are enduring a nightmare campaign.

The champions are bottom of the Swiss Super League, despite, finally, claiming their first league victory of the season on Sunday.

Jonathan Okita the only scorer against Sion.

In this group, Zürich lost their first four matches, conceding 14 times, before getting off the mark a week ago.

Goals from Nikola Boranijašević and Antonio Marchesano , the latter in the 94th minute, seeing them beat Bodø/Glimt at Letzigrund.

Nevertheless, Zürich have lost all four previous visits to England, with this trend set to continue in North London.

Arsenal team news

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe are out long-term, while Granit Xhaka will miss this game suspended.

Matt Turner has been unavailable for the last two games due to a groin strain, meaning Aaron Ramsdale could continue in goal.

Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney, Cédric, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fábio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Marquinhos and Eddie Nketiah will all come into the XI.

Worryingly, Bukayo Saka hobbled off at the weekend and, with Chelsea to come on Sunday, surely won’t be risked here.

Zürich team news

Bo Henriksen’s side can snatch third with a shock victory here, so will put out a strong side.

This though won’t feature Mirlind Kryeziu, Miguel Reichmuth, Blerim Džemaili, Ilan Sauter or Donis Avdijaj as they’re all injured.

Absent centre-back Kryeziu was on target from the penalty spot in the reverse fixture in St. Gallen.

Jonathan Okita is their top-scorer this season, bagging his third of the campaign at the weekend.
