Match preview: West Ham United vs Sevilla

West Ham United were beaten 1-0 in Sevilla.

The record holders of the competition won the first-leg as Munir scored the only goal.

The Hammers now face a tricky task in getting past a side with a serious European pedigree.

In the league, David Moyes’ side returned to winning ways as they defeated Aston Villa 2-1.

Sevilla held to back to back draws

Sevilla have now drawn three of their last four league matches.

Lopetegui’s team were held by Rayo Vallecano who had lost all of their last six.

The game prior, they were also held by Alavez who are sat second to bottom in La Liga.

But despite their two recent slip-ups, Sevilla remain second in the table.

Their attention now turns back to Europa League action where they will be looking to defend their 1-0 lead.

West Ham United team news

West Ham will once again be without Jarrod Bowen who has suffered a foot injury and he is unlikely to return until after the international break.

Vladimir Coufal and Angelo Ogbonna are also missing whilst Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell and Nikola Vlasic are all doubts.

Sevilla team news

Marcos Acuna is the only player missing for Sevilla.

The left-back has picked up a thigh injury.
