Are cracks starting to appear in Xavi’s Barcelona?
When Barça hammered rivals Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabéu last month, everyone was declaring that Barcelona are back.
They took on Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final, having only drawn 1-1 at Deutsche Bank Park a week earlier.
In the second leg, everything went wrong for the Catalan giants with Frankfurt racing into a 2-0 first half lead before extending their advantage further.
Sergio Busquets and Memphis both struck in stoppage time, the latter coming 11 minutes into it, but there was to be no grand-stand finish.
This ended Barça’s hopes of a first-ever UEFA Cup triumph, so they have just eight games left this season, all in La Liga.
Last Sunday, Barcelona needed a 92nd minute header from Luuk de Jong to beat Levante 3-2 in a thriller, in which saw the Bats awarded three penalties.
This does mean Xavi’s team have won seven successive league games, and are unbeaten in 15, but they remain 12 points behind Real Madrid.
Will the Catalan giants bounce back from Thursday’s bitter disappointment.
Cádiz meanwhile are fighting for their lives at the other end of the table.
El Submarino Amarillo were beaten 2-1 by Real Betis last weekend, despite taking the lead through Iván Alejo.
In that one, the visitors scored twice in the final quarter of an hour to leave Estadio Ramón de Carranza with all three points.
So, since Sergio took over as Head Coach, Cádiz have taken 14 points from 11 games, but they remain in the relegation zone.
After this, the Pirates still have to play Athletic Club, Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid, so it doesn’t get much easier.
Their other two fixtures are against Elche and Alavés, the teams starting the weekend 15th and bottom, so those will be decisive.
Here, Barcelona should cruise to victory at Camp Nou.

Ronald Araújo is suspended, due to yellow card accumulation, while Gerard Piqué, Pedri, Sergi Roberto and Ansu Fati are injured.
Pedri’s absence is the most noteworthy after he was substituted at half time against Frankfurt.
Without him, Sergio Busquets is likely to be joined in midfield by Gavi and Frenkie de Jong.
At the back, Dani Alves could return on the right with Óscar Mingueza joining Eric García in the middle.
Up front, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembélé were the starting trio in midweek.
But, Memphis or Adama Traoré could come into the side with Luuk de Jong continuing as the super-sub if required.

Armenian international centre-back Varazdat Haroyan hasn’t featured since early-February due to injury.
So, Víctor Chust and Luis Hernández will continue at the heart of defence.
Álvaro Negredo has previously scored against Barcelona for three different clubs, including in Cádiz’s 2-1 victory over them 16 months ago.
