Real Madrid are unbeaten in 16 meetings with Osasuna, dating back 11 years, although two of their last three encounters have ended goalless.

Both teams to score is 4/5.

Real Madrid to win and over 2.5 goals is 13/8.

Real Madrid to win and both teams to score is 13/5.

Karim Benzema is 3/1 to break the deadlock and 5/6 to score anytime.

Match preview

Football is a simple game: 22 people kick a ball around for an hour and a half and, at the end, Real Madrid have somehow won.

They were 3-0 down at home to Chelsea, only for Rodrygo’s volley, following Luka Modrić’s outrageous cross, and Karim Benzema’s header to see them through.

This monumental effort had seemingly left Carlo Ancelotti’s side with nothing left to give.

That’s because, on Sunday night, los Blancos were 2-0 down to Sevilla at Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán and were defending shambolically.

But, as soon as substitute Rodrygo halved the deficit just four minutes after the interval, it felt like everyone just knew.

Vinícius Júnior then had an equaliser disallowed, following a four minutes VAR delay, allegedly for handball but this seemed a bizarre decision.

Unperturbed, Nacho did then make it 2-2 before, in stoppage time, who else but Benzema won it for Real Madrid right at the death.

This result means Real Madrid are now 15 points clear at the top of the table and that looks like being the night they all but rubber stamp the title.

With their next fixture after this against Manchester City, will Real’s momentum continue?

Osasuna though will not be easy opponents.

On Saturday, los Rojillos beat Valencia 2-1 with Chimy Ávila and then Ante Budimir on target at Mestalla.

This victory means Jagoba Arrasate’s side have won seven of their last 13 games and are up to ninth, last finishing higher a decade ago.

Will the champions elect leave Pamplona with three more points to their name?

Osasuna team news

Chimy Ávila and Ante Burdimir were both on target at the weekend so will continue to lead the line together here.

Darko Brašanac could return to midfield, adding more defensive solidity.

Real Madrid team news

Given that Real don’t play again for six days after this one, there’s no reason for Carlo Ancelotti to rotate too much, not that he likes to anyway.

At the back, with Ferland Mendy and Marcelo both injured, this leaves them without an obvious left-back option.

Dani Carvajal filled-in there on Sunday but he could revert to right-back with Nacho coming in and David Alaba partnering Éder Militão in the middle.

Eduardo Camavinga could keep his place in midfield with, potentially, one of Luka Modrić or Toni Kroos rested here.

Karim Benzema and Vinícius Júnior will remain the main goal threats having scored 39 and 17 goals this season respectively.
