The former England midfielder was appointed until the end of the season despite failed roles at Everton most recently, and Chelsea and Derby before that and is third favourite to claim the role permanently, but Luis Enrique leads the betting currently.

Graham Potter was sacked despite leading Chelsea into the Champions League quarter-finals, he had an overall record of 12 wins in 31 matches, averaging 1.27 points per game in the league resulting in them dropping into the bottom half.

With Julian Nagelsmann departing Bayern Munich in March, his name has immediately been linked to the Chelsea role and the early signs are that it could be between him and Enrique.
