Match preview
17th and 15th in League One will meet this weekend during the FA Cup weekend as Charlton Athletic look to carry on their winning form ahead of a trip to Manchester United with Lincoln City up next for the London side at The Valley.
Charlton have struggled for much of this season, but since beating Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in the EFL Cup round of 16, Dean Holden’s men have set up a quarter-finals battle with United.
In League One, they drew with Peterborough United at home shortly after beating Brighton, before a 3-1 loss to Oxford United. A 3-1 win over Portsmouth moved them up into 17th, however.
Despite the positive form in some regard, Charlton are still only above the bottom three by seven points with just six wins this season and 35 goals let in from only 24 games – only Burton Albion, Forest Green Rovers Cambridge United, Bristol Rovers, Exeter City and Accrington Stanley have worse defensive records.
As for Lincoln, they drew with Ipswich Town 1-1 last time out, not long after registering the same result against Bolton Wanderers. In fact, after losing 3-0 to Burton Albion, they are winless post-Christmas.
