Match preview

Ipswich Town will be looking to get right back in the win column with a win over Oxford United after losing grip on first place in League One with the away side sitting down in 15th and without much hope of moving into the top half before 2023.

In contrast to 2023, Oxford have been lacking in goals and wins and there is not much to shout about right now at the Kassam Stadium. In fact, with just six wins from 21 games, they have played a game in hand over teams above them and have also lost seven times already. Worse yet, their excellent goalscoring record that has been their greatest feat in recent years has decreased with just 26 goals in 21 games.

As for Ipswich, they lost 1-0 to Wycombe Wanderers away from home last time out which means Plymouth Arygle are now sitting at the top of League One. The gap remains just two points, however, and with 41 goals scored from 22 games, they are level with Plymouth as the top scorers in the league.

The Tractor Boys have still won in impressive style in December after picking up all three points against fellow promotion hopefuls, Peterborough United. A 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town, however, means just one win in the past three league games for Ipswich.
