Match preview
Tranmere Rovers will head to Holker Street this Thursday evening as the club meets with a Barrow side gradually slipping away from the playoff spots after the Merseyside club registered one of their best results of the campaign.
Tranmere thrashed Doncaster Rovers 3-0 at Prenton Park last time out, as Kane Hemmings, Kieron Morris and Paul Lewis all scored a goal each in the second half. Mick Mellon now sees his side move up into 14th and within touching distance of the top half of the table.
As for Barrow, they have dropped from fourth into seventh in the past two weeks after a winless run. They met with Salford City on Boxing Day, as Jordan Stevens scored an equaliser away from home in a 1-1 draw.
Despite the recent poor run, Barrow have still managed to win 11 games this season, which is only bettered by the top three in League Two. Better yet, they have a game in hand to play over fifth-placed Swindon Town, which if they win, they will be back in the top six.
