Match preview

Bradford City and Northampton Town will meet in the biggest game of the weekend in England because as the Premier League and Championship pause, third meets fourth in League Two.

It’s Northampton who currently sit ahead of Bradford in third after a 2-0 win over Gillingham last time out to put to bed the misery of an early FA Cup upset at the hands of Chesterfield. Sam Hoskins scored in the 2-0 win over Gillingham, as Kieron Bowie netted too.

The club are now ahead of Bradford by two points in the League Two table, although they still trail league leaders Leyton Orient by seven points and Stevenage in second by four points.

On the other hand, however, they are the highest-scoring team in League Two so far with an impressive 31 goals from 18 games. At the same time, Northampton have conceded 19 and have the second-best goals difference record behind Orient.

As for Bradford, they are currently in fourth and things have changed around greatly since Mark Hughes took to the helm. The club defeated Sutton United last time out 2-0 at Gander Green Lane, which also came after beating Mansfield Town on the road too. Hughes’ men did, however, lose to Harrogate Town in the FA Cup at home too.
