Match preview

15th will take on 18th in League Two this weekend after a week break from league action across England as Newport County head to the Mornflake Stadium where a vastly improved Crewe Alexandra awaits them.

Crewe had a dodgy start to the season in League Two after dropping down from League One last campaign. The club failed to win any of the first seven games in the season and ending up drawing only two of those. Now, however, they sit with six victories and just five defeats, drawing seven other games.

On the other hand, with them netting only 17 goals so far, no side across League Two have scored fewer goals for those outside of the relegation zone.

Last time out for Crewe, however, they did lose to Barnsley in a 3-0 defeat away from home in the FA Cup. This did end a run of four games on the spin with the taste of victory, as they defeated Leeds United in the EFL Trophy, Leyton Orient in the FA Cup, before beating Colchester United and Swindon Town in League Two.

As for Newport, they lost to Derby County in the FA Cup last time out, which also came after losing to MK Dons in the EFL Trophy. The South Wales outfit did, however, defeat Gillingham in their last League Two game to force them further away from the relegation zone.
