Match preview
It’s one of the biggest games of the season down at the bottom end of League Two as Rochdale and Hartlepool United clash at the Crown Oil Arena with the home side sitting down in 21st and the away outfit in 22nd.
Rochdale have not played a game since the start of December with them having their next two matches postponed. The club are coming into this one off the back of their worst result of the season still, having lost 4-1 to Harrogate Town just above them in the table.
That loss has thrown Rochdale further down the table and just above the bottom two by one point. At the same time, it does mean they’ve also scored just 14 goals all campaign long, as only Gillingham have netted fewer. In fact, the only thing keeping Rochdale above Hartlepool is goals difference, with the Dale letting in 29 goals compared to Hartlepool’s 39.
Hartlepool have also beating Crawley Town in recent weeks but not played since December 9th. They also were hammered 5-0 by Stockport County at the start of the month and they remain in deep trouble and fighting for survival in the Football League.
It’s a game that could go either way given how they have just 15 points on the board each as both are set for a long relegation battle in League Two.
