Match preview

It’s one of the biggest games of the League Two season this weekend when Stevenage and Barrow meet with one another as first plays hosts to fourth in the division with six points separating the two of them.

Stevenage were flying high in League Two and sitting top of the table up until recently when Leyton Orient managed to move back to the top. This comes as a result of a draw against Grimsby Town in the last round of fixtures, while they only narrowly beat Hartlepool United 1-0 before a 1-1 draw with Colchester United shortly before that. Stevenage have managed to put together some decent cup runs in this time too, beating Arsenal U21s in the EFL Trophy before beating King’s Lynn Town 3-0 in the FA Cup too.

Barrow are six points behind Stevenage here, but they do sit two clear of Carlisle United down in sixth and have a healthy position in the playoff positions. What’s more, they are sitting with 11 wins already in the league and just one draw. This does, however, mean they have lost seven ties and let in 19 goals from 19 games.

Barrow beat Hartlepool in the last round of fixtures, but in losing to Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Trophy, Mansfield Town in the FA Cup and Crawley Town in League Two, it does mean just one win and three losses in all competitions right now for the club.
