Match preview

It’s arguably the biggest game in League Two this weekend when Leyton Orient head to Edgeley Park to meet with Stockport County as the current leaders of the division meet with the pre-season favourites to win League Two.

County were at the top of the list in League Two at the start of the season to win the entire thing and head straight into League One in what is their first outing in the Football League since 2012. However, they’ve failed to prove this worth throughout the campaign and now sit 12th and on 25 points. At the same time, however, they have managed to move up the table in recent weeks after a promising run of form.

This run has also seen them smash sixth-placed Swindon Town in the FA Cup, and combine this with a recent win over Newport County, a 0-0 draw with Tranmere Rovers, a 3-0 win over Sutton United and victories over Carlisle United and Salford City in League Two, it does mean seven games unbeaten for Stockport after also beating Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Trophy.

As for Orient, despite losses in the cup, they’ve only managed to lose twice this season in League Two. They are also already 17 points above Stockport in the table and are now three clear of Stevenage in second.

A win for Orient away to such an in-form side still eyeing up the playoffs will be their biggest statement of the season so far.
