Match preview

It’s ninth taking on 11th in League Two this weekend with Wimbledon meeting against Swindon Town as the two sides aim to stamp their marker down on the playoff spots with the Dons only four places behind the top seven.

Ahead of the game, Wimbledon are behind Swindon by just two points. A victory could send them up into eighth, depending on the game involving eighth-placed Salford City. The Dons have now won eight games and lost only seven from 20 outings. On the other hand, with 25 goals scored and 24 let in, it’s clear to see where their problems lie right now.

The London side also managed to beat Grimsby Town in the last outing in League Two, but in losing to Chesterfield 2-0 in the FA Cup, they have only won one game in the past few weeks.

Swindon lost to Crawley Town 2-0 last time out and consequently crashed out of the playoff positions and down into ninth. They also lost 1-0 to Crewe Alexandra 1-0 just prior to this and drew 1-1 with Tranmere Rovers just prior to that. In fact, you have to go all the way back to the end of October to see their last win, as they beat Mansfield Town 5-2.
