Match preview
Ligue 1 basement dwellers SCO Angers are set to kick the club’s nightmare campaign back into gear this weekend, when they play host to OGC Nice at the Stade Raymond Kopa.
For those not aware, Angers currently represent one of the most out-of-form sides across the entirety of European top-flight football.
Incredibly, in their 28 league fixtures to date in 2022/23, Les Noirs et Blancs have managed to string together just two victories.
Not only that, but each of the club’s last five have culminated in defeat, the latter three of which saw Alexandre Dujeux’s troops ship a whopping ten goals, whilst failing to find the net even once themselves.
With just ten games remaining, Dujeux and co. sit a full 14 points from safety, making their eventual relegation to the 2nd division a long-standing foregone conclusion.

Safe to say, then, that upcoming opponents Nice will likely fancy their chances of adding ever further to Angers’ woes this weekend.
Nice, for their part, remain on the hunt for an eventual European berth come the season’s close, albeit whilst looking in at the top-five from the outside as things stand.
This comes with Les Aiglons, under the watch of interim head coach Didier Digard, having long proven themselves a tough nut to crack.
All told, dating back to early January, Nice have navigated the club’s last 13 fixtures without being condemned to a single defeat.
This run includes wins over the likes of Lens, Marseille and Monaco, and saw Digard and co. book their spot in the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League at the expense of FC Sheriff last month.
More recently, though, they were held to a somewhat disappointing 1-1 stalemate by Lorient at the Allianz Riviera.
Nevertheless, we at 101 expect Nice to ultimately make short work of Angers on Sunday, securing a return to winning ways courtesy of what will likely prove an altogether one-sided scoreline in the west of France.
