Correct Score Tip of the Day

There is often little to separate these sides with three of the last eight matches all ending in a 1-1 stalemate. Therefore, 101 Great Goals’ prediction for this match is Angers 1-1 Nantes and is available at odds of 11/2.

Alternatively, you can bet on any Angers win at 13/10 against Les Canaris at home on Sunday. At these odds, a £10 bet would return £23. Or, back any away win for Nantes at 2/1 here at the Stade Raymond Kopa. At these odds, a £10 bet would return £30. You can also find odds of 23/10 for any draw between Angers and Nantes on Sunday. At these odds, a £10 bet would return £33.

Goalscorer Tip of the Day

Mostafa Mohamed is our tip for first goalscorer in Sunday’s match. The Nantes central forward is the man tasked with replacing the goals of Randal Kolo Muani and is 6/1 to be the first name on the score sheet in this match. Or 21/10 to score a debut goal at any time during Sunday’s game.

Match preview

Les Scoïstes welcome Nantes to the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers on Sunday for this Ligue 1 match.

Angers SCO finished last Ligue 1 season in 14th place, nine points ahead of 18th placed Saint-Étienne in the relegation play-offs zone. Le SCO come into this match on a run of two home wins in a row carried over from last season. This includes their last league match of the 2021/22 season at home to Montpellier. The final score of the match was 2-0.

Abdallah Sima is the big name signing for them this summer. The highly rated 21 year old right winger arrives from Brighton & Hove Albion on a season-long loan deal. Cédric Hountondji, Adrien Hunou, Ulrick Eneme-Ella, Miha Blazic, Himad Abdelli, Amine Salama, Yahia Fofana, Ilyes Chetti, and Halid Sabanovic are the other new arrivals for Angers this summer as they attempt to replace the 14 outgoing players.

Cedric Hountondji (arm) and Sofiane Boufal (hamstring) are likely to miss this match due to injury. Nabil Bentaleb will also miss out due to suspension.

FC Nantes finished last season comfortably in mid-table, 11 points behind the UEFA Conference League place and 23 points above the relegation play off zone. However, their Coupe de France win last season sees them enter the UEFA Europa League in the group stage. It also qualified them for the Trophée des Champions – France’s answer to a national Super Cup – which they lost to PSG last weekend in a heavy 4-0 defeat.

Mostafa Mohamed is the big name signing for them this summer. The 24 year old centre-forward arrives from Galatasaray A.S. on loan to replace the departing Randal Kolo Muani, who joined Frankfurt on a free transfer.

Former Spurs and Watford midfieder Moussa Sissoko also arrives for £1.80m. Evann Guessand, a 21 year old centre-forward, also arrives from OGC Nice on a season-long loan.

Sebastien Corchia (ankle), Pedro Chirivella (groin) and Charles Traore (knee) are all struggling to be fit for the Ligue 1 curtain-raiser.
