Montpellier will be looking to bounce back from two dreadful results in Ligue 1 this weekend when they get back on the road to face off with a Brest side currently punching well above their weight in the French top flight.
Montpellier finished behind Brest last season in what was a terrible campaign for the former Ligue 1 champions. The points tally was five between the two, but with 19 losses from the 38 games, there was little hope coming into the new season.
The club would beat Troyes on the opening weekend in the league in what was a comeback victory after a late goal from Teji Tedy Savanier sealed all three points and a double for him on the day. Theo Sainte-Luce also netted the opener in that game.
Montpellier are now on a two-game losing run, however, after a 5-2 demolition by the astonishing Paris Saint-Germain, and a 2-1 loss to newcomers, Auxerre.
On the other hand, Brest are in excellent form right now. The 3-2 loss to Lens was a tough one to take after they almost came back to draw with a late penalty conversion in the 83rd minute. The club played well in the 1-1 draw with Marseille in their first home game too, as they had five shots on target with Pierre Lees-Melou scoring the equaliser in the second half.
A recent 3-1 victory over Angers leaves Brest in the win column heading into this one, as Jeremy Le Douaron netted a brace before Achraf Dari scored midway through the second 45.
