Match Preview

Two of the sides in the relegation zone will meet in Ligue 1 this weekend with Ajaccio travelling to the Stade Francis Le Blé with the away side aiming to register their first win of the season now they’re back in the top flight.

Brest have managed to get a win this season, but with four losses on their record already, they are in 18th and set for an early battle in the relegation zone unless things change. What’s more, they have let in 17 goals so far this season, meaning only Angers below them have managed to concede more with 18.

In some ways, Brest can be commended for their performance in the last game, as Paris Saint-Germain beat them 1-0 in Paris. Although it was a loss, with three shots on target for the away side, just as PSG had only four, they did look promising in defence at times.

Ajaccio, however, are in tatters right now. The club have so far managed to lose six of their seven games in Ligue 1 so far, with them also only managing to score three goals. With 11 let in though, they do boast a better defensive record than Brest, despite not winning a game this season.

Given how both sides are in the relegation zone, the game could go either way. It’s expected to be low-scoring, and with Ajaccio away from home, Brest will be confident in getting all three points and a second win of the season.
