Ninth will play hosts to 13th at the Gabriel Montpied Stadium this weekend with Clermont Foot aiming to get back in the win column after a topsy-turvy run of late with Troyes looking for their first win in two games.
It’s been a very up and down season for Troyes too this season, with them now having a record of two wins, one draw and four losses. In fact, only Ajaccio who sit rock bottom of the league and without a win have lost more games.
Troyes last tasted victory at the end of August when they met with Monaco away from home, as the club hammered the home side 4-2 that day. A 1-1 draw with Rennes would come soon after before a 1-0 loss to Lens.
Outside of the other losses to Lyon, Toulouse and Montpellier, Bruno Irles’ men also managed to beat Angers 3-1 towards the end of August. What’s more, with the red card to Yoann Salmier in the draw with Rennes, he can now return to the side in this one.
Clermont Foot will be happy with their start to the season so far with three losses and three defeats so far. They have also scored eight goals and let in 10, meaning there isn’t that much going for them on the attacking front at the moment – no side has scored less goals inside the top 10.
It will be a close one as there isn’t too much separating them right now. Clermont, however, will be the more confident side.
