Match preview

It’s sixth against fourth in Ligue 1 this Sunday night as Lyon travel to the Estadio Bollaert-Delelis where Lens are looking to get back in the win column after a magnificent start to the season sees them riding high in fourth right now and five points behind Marseille with a game in hand.

Lens are unbeaten still in Ligue 1 ahead of this one with them scoring a stunning 16 goals and letting in seven from eight games. This has seen them draw three times and win five so far this campaign as they drew with Nantes last time out, not long after beating Troyes and drawing with Reims in September.

Lens are also the only side to beat Lorient this campaign as well in a stunning 5-2 victory, despite sitting a point behind them in the table. Another win came against Brest in a 3-2 victory, with them also drawing 0-0 against Ajaccio.

As for Lyon, they are on a three-game losing run since the 5-0 loss to Angers back at the start of September. Lorient beat them 3-1, before Monaco edged past them 2-0, as Paris Saint-Germain sent a real shock to their system in the title race with a 1-0 win.

The game could be a high-scoring one with so many goals so far for either side. Both clubs have managed to score five goals in one game this season already, with 16 goals so far across Ligue 1 for Lyon and Lens.
