Third-placed Lorient will play hosts to Nice at the Stade du Moustoir this weekend with the club flying high as one of the surprise packages of the season across Europe with the away side down in 12th.
Lorient have been sensational this season, drawing their last two games. The club beat Brest back at the start of October, not long after defeating Lille 2-1 as well, but this winning run that extended six games has come to an end recently with draws against Troyes and Reims.
Lorient have still managed to win eight times in Ligue 1 this season, with three draws in the league too and just one loss. They have, however, manage to score 23 times in the league and concede just 16. Nice are in a decent run of form themselves right now since losing to Slovacko in the Europa Conference League, as they have drawn with Auxerre and Nantes in recent games, before beating Partizan 2-1 in the Europa Conference League.
Nice’s last win in Ligue 1, however, came back in a victory against Troyes where they managed to win 3-2 with goals from Mattia Viti, Andy Delort and Nicolas Pepe. The club are, however, underdogs here against the high-flying Lorient, and the home side should be confident in getting another three points on the board.
