10th takes on 14th to kick off Ligue 1 action this weekend with Lyon set to welcome Nantes to the Groupama Stadium just two weeks before the two will clash in the French Cup semi-finals at the start of April.
It’s been a strange season for Nantes, because despite their woeful form at times in Ligue 1, they have so far managed to go on a lengthy unbeaten run all the way to the semi-finals as they attempt to defend their cup title.
In Ligue 1, however, they have now not won a game since defeating Lorient at the start of February, losing to Lens, Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain before a draw with Nice. It keeps the club in the bottom half and in 14th for yet another week.
Lyon played out a thrilling draw with Lille last time out, as they went 2-0 down before Bradley Barcola scored and an Alexandre Lacazette brace sealed a point in a 3-3 away draw.
Lyon remain in 10th as a result and are now behind Rennes by seven points in the race for the European spots.
