It’s a massive game in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening between Lorient and Marseille at the Orange Vélodrome as Igor Tudor’s men remain in third after a great run of form since the World Cup.
Marseille have won all their games since the action resumed in France’s top flight and no side have looked better than them after netting 12 goals in four outings. They also beat Troyes 2-0 in midweek thanks to goals from Chanel Mbemba Mangulu and Jordan Veretout.
Tudor’s side have also smashed Toulouse 6-1, edged past Montpellier away from home and beaten Hyeres 2-0 in the French Cup round of 64.
His men do, however, still sit eight points behind Paris Saint-Germain but with a fantastic record of only 15 goals let in, while only the league leaders have scored more.
Lorient have tumbled down the league table in the past five games, and they also dropped points in the final seconds against Monaco after drawing 2-2. Dango Ouattara and Terem Moffi scored that day to keep Lorient in sixth.
They are now adrift of Monaco by two points and Lille are also within a point now, but Lorient should not be too disheartened as they are just two behind fourth-placed Rennes.
