Match preview

Marseille are sitting second in Ligue 1 after another win during the week with Igor Tudor’s men set to play hosts to Nice at the Orange Velodrome before the visit of Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday in the French Cup round of 16.

Marseille have moved above Lens by a point now in Ligue 1 after the latter lost for just the second time this season. Marseille saw Azzedine Ounahi score in the 93rd minute of their recent game to seal all three points against Nantes on Wednesday.

Tudor’s side also drew 1-1 with Monaco last weekend in a battle for the Champions League spots, but Dimitri Payet and co. will now be confident in putting together a title charge in Ligue 1.

Nice come into this game in great confidence. Ironically, they gave Marseille a lot of hope last time out by beating Lens thanks to another goal from Gaetan Laborde – he also scored the winning goal against Lille last weekend.

Terem Moffi could play for Nice this weekend on loan from Lorient, and he brings to the table 12 goals already in the French top flight this season. Nice are also into eighth now and will be confident in breaking the top six with Moffi leading the line.
