Fourth meets 14th this Ligue 1 weekend with Lens set to head on the road to Montpellier with the aims of finding their feet once again in the race for the Champions League after falling way out of the title race.
When Lens got a sensational win over the champions and league leaders Paris Saint-Germain just a few weeks back, it seemed as if the club were set challenge for the Ligue 1 title.
Fast forward a few more games, however, and Lens now sit in fourth and behind PSG at the top of the pile by eight points, just as the club sit behind Monaco by only a point in third.
The fourth-placed side finally returned to winning ways last time out, as Lens beat Nantes 3-1. It marked the first win in 90 minutes since beating Brest 3-1 midway through January, as they’ve only managed to also beat Lorient on penalties in the French Cup.
As for Montpellier, it’s now two wins in a row for them after beating Brest 3-0 and Troyes 1-0 away from home. Teji Tedy Savanier was sent off that day against Troyes, and he will be a huge miss in this game.
