Seventh takes on ninth in Ligue 1 this weekend with Nice set to welcome Lorient to the Allianz Riviera where the home side head into this one off the back of a midweek win over Sheriff Tiraspol.
It’s turning out to be a great 2023 for Nice so far, as they have rocketed up the Ligue 1 table and also managed to defeat Tirsapol 4-1 over two legs in the Europa Conference League – Terem Moffi, Gaetan Laborde and Billal Brahimi scored in the midweek 3-1 European win.
Nice are still four adrift of Rennes in the race for the top five, however, while they still sit eight behind Monaco in fourth and it will be tough to argue their case to get into the Europa League.
As for Lorient, they are back in the win column after a 2-0 win over Troyes that saw Bamba Dieng score before a goal in the dying embers from Stephane Diarra.
The club remain in ninth as a result, but they are behind Lille by only three points and a win here would be one of their biggest of the season.
