Monaco are in search of a third win in a row in Ligue 1 with the club finally finding some form and moving up the top flight division ahead of travelling to the Stade Auguste Delaune where a struggling Reims side awaits them this weekend.
The turn around in form has been halted ever so slightly with a midweek loss to Ferencvaros in the Europa League. Worse yet, they lost on home soil to the Hungarian side and had just three shots on target in front of their own faithful. Nevertheless, with a 1-0 victory against Red Star Belgard just before this in Europe, they do still sit second in their group.
Monaco also managed to defeat the high-flying Lyon last time out in what was an excellent attacking display from the home side that day. Benoit Badiashile and Guillermo Maripan scored a goal each that day, but with 20 shots for Lyon and six hitting the target, they remain fragile in defence.
Monaco also edged past Nice in the Ligue 1 game prior to that, while they are the only side to take points off Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions this season with a 1-1 draw in Paris.
Reims, however, continue to struggle. In fact, Óscar García’s men only sit outside of the relegation zone by the fact they have won a game and drawn three others, as they have lost three and let in 14 goals already in Ligue 1. Quite incredibly, however, they have scored 10 goals from seven games so far, which is the most inside the bottom seven.
