Two sides experiencing entirely contrasting starts to the Ligue 1 season will meet here as Strasbourg are aiming to get their first win of the season ahead of playing hosts to eighth-placed Rennes at the Stade de la Meinau.

On the other hand, with two losses and three wins from the eight fixtures, they sit seven points adrift of third-placed Lorient already and one behind fifth-placed Monaco.
Rennes did manage to get a commendable draw away to the unbeaten Marseille last time out, but with a 2-2 draw with Fenerbahce in the Europa League just prior to this, the club have to go back to the start of September to witness their last win of the season. They did, however, smash Auxerre 5-0 that day.
