The Manchester United crisis has been put on hold for now, but they’re only ever one defeat away from oblivion.

In better news, Raphaël Varane made his return from injury off the bench at Turf Moor, while there was a debut for Sofyan Amrabat, also introduced as a late substitute.
Here, new goalkeeper Altay Bayındır will make his debut, while there’s also likely to be starts for Donny van de Beek, Alejandro Garnacho, Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Martial.

Rob Holding is also likely to debut at centre-back, alongside Chris Richards.
In the previous round, Jean-Philippe Mateta became the first Frenchman to score a League Cup hat-trick for two decades, so he could lead the line, rotated in for Odsonne Édouard.
Jefferson Lerma, Naouirou Ahamada, Michael Olise and summer signing Matheus França are all out injured.
