Life after Hernán Losada could hardly have started any better for D.C. United.
The 39 year old Argentine was sacked on 20 April, with Chad Ashton put in charge for last weekend’s match against New England Revolution.
All three goal came in a 17 minute spree just before half time with new DP Taxiarchis Fountas bagging a brace, while Michael Estrada scored in-between.
Before this, D.C. had lost four successive matches but are now off the bottom of the Eastern Conference and up to 11th.
Columbus Crew meanwhile have also made an indifferent start to the campaign, so much so that they’re now below D.C. on goal difference.
Caleb Porter’s side met fellow strugglers Sporting Kansas City last weekend and were involved in an uneventful goalless draw at Children’s Mercy Park.
