Los Angeles FC have looked simply unstoppable in Leagues Cup so far, but this’ll be a significantly tougher test.

The MLS champions have cruised through both ties to get here, smashing Juárez 7-1 before a 4-0 drubbing of Real Salt Lake at BMO Stadium on Tuesday.

Denis Bouanga bagging a brace, before Nathan Ordaz and Filip Krastev were also on target.

Steve Cherundolo’s side were beaten in the CONCACAF Champions League Final by León earlier this year, so the Black ad Gold are doubly-determined to land the club’s maiden continental silverware.

Their opponents here though have won five Champions Leagues in the last 12 seasons, including picking up the trophy in 2019 and 2021.

Monterrey too have been imperious in Leagues Cup, topping their group with maximum points, before dumping out Portland Timbers and Tigres UNAL, both 1-0, during the knockout rounds.

This tie will be played at Rose Bowl, which has a capacity of over 92,000, due to the high demand for tickets.
