The Lions were beaten by Atalanta United in the last four of this competition in 2019, before defeat in the MLS is Back Tournament Final to Portland 12 months later.

Óscar Pareja’s team currently sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, despite Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Philadelphia .

In the Open Cup, the Lions beat Tampa Bay Rowdies and the Union, both 2-1, before back-to-back penalty shootout victories in the two subsequent rounds.

First, they, just about, saw off Inter Miami, before also getting past Nashville SC via a penalty competition.

So, Orlando have certainly ridden their luck, but are now just one step away from the final.

New York Red Bulls meanwhile have previously reached two U.S. Open Cup Finals, beaten by Chicago Fire in 2003 and SKC five years ago.

This season, RBNY have cruised through to the last four, overcoming Hartford Athletic, D.C. United, Charlotte and big rivals NYCFC, scoring 11 goals and conceding just two.

Meantime, in MLS, Gerhard Struber’s side are third in the east, following Sunday’s thrilling 4-3 victory at Austin.

So, despite being on the road for this one, the Red Bulls will travel to Florida confident of victory.

Sacramento Republic of Sporting Kansas City await in the final, but who will prevail at Exploria Stadium?
