Who will get their first win of 2022?

Sporting Kansas City took on Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on opening weekend but were beaten 3-1 in Georgia.

Peter Vermes took over SKC in 2009 and has shown incredible consistency, appearing in the play-offs in ten of the last 11 seasons.

The Wizards won MLS Cup in 2013, as well as lifting the U.S. Open Cup in 2012, 2015 and 2017.

So, Sporting KC will fancy their chances of claiming more silverware this year but, in the more immediate future, just want to get off the mark.

Houston Dynamo meantime do have a point on the board but it came in a rather uninspiring goalless draw with Real Salt Lake last weekend.

Both teams mustered just two shots on target a piece, making a draw was the fair outcome at PNC Stadium.

El Naranja finished rock bottom of the Western Conference last season and, despite a change of coach, are unlikely to massively improve on that.

Manager Paulo Nagamura is embarking on his first senior role having previously been Sporting Kansas City II Head Coach for four years.

Will he haunt his former employers or will SKC be too strong at Children’s Mercy Park?
