Bournemouth are desperate to get a win here against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Vitality Stadium after registering the joint-worst defeat in Premier League history this past week against Liverpool, just as the Midlands outfit failed to win once more.
The pressure is continuing to mount on Bruno Lage at the Wolves helm with yet another winless game. The club finished 13th last season, and with them now having failed to win again after leading against Newcastle United, the club sit inside the relegation zone as they are now without a victory since April in the league.
Ruben Neves’ stunning strike saw them take the lead against the Magpies, but a late equaliser keeps them with four wins and one draw so far. What’s more, after Neves’ goal, Wolves have so far only scored twice and let in four goals.
Despite losing 9-0 to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, Bournemouth are still ahead of Wolves in the table as they managed to beat Aston Villa on the opening weekend. Against the Reds, however, they were 5-0 down by half time and now sit with 16 goals conceded after 14 games having also travelled to the Etihad and lost 4-0 to Manchester City.
Bournemouth also edged past Norwich City in the EFL Cup this time last week, while losing to Arsenal a week prior. It does now mean Scott Parker’s men haven’t scored in the league since the victory against Villa on the opening weekend.
It’s likely to be low-scoring after the results so far, but for all of Wolves’ attacking woes, Bournemouth are clearly the worst defensive side in the league this season.
