Another London derby is upon us in the Premier League on Wednesday evening as the Brentford Community Stadium plays hosts to Brentford and Chelsea as Graham Potter looks to keep up his unbeaten run as Chelsea boss.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion man has had a fantastic start to life in London, and the Englishman has been near enough faultless in his first six games in charge. Recently, a 3-0 win over AC Milan was met with a 2-0 win at the San Siro over the Serie A champions, while the club has also smashed Wolves 3-0, Aston Villa 2-0, and edged past Crystal Palace 2-1 in another London derby.
In fact, despite a 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg back in early September, Potter has seen his side concede just one goal since with the Blues now keeping five clean sheets in a row. Mason Mount was the hero last time out too, and he has now added two goals to his two assists under Potter so far after bagging both goals in the win over Aston Villa.
As for Brentford, they are now ninth in the Premier League and two points behind sixth-placed Newcastle United after an excellent Potter’s former team, Brighton. The Bees saw Ivan Toney score twice once more to now make it eight goals for him in the league so far after his sensational flicked effort was met with another penalty.
This is Potter’s biggest test as Chelsea boss in the league, and if he can get all three points once more, we may start to think about him guiding the Blues into a title challenge.
